Inner block on Šafárikova will undergo renovation, residents are invited to participate

Participatory planning has already become a commonplace part of the design of public spaces in Trnava. After a pandemic hiatus that turned public meetings with citizens into online meetings, the city is once again starting a live dialogue with residents. The same will be true for the upcoming revitalization of the inner block on Šafárikova Street. A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 21 at 5 p.m. right in that courtyard.

Extent of the area to be addressed

The renovation of the playground and the whole inner courtyard will be discussed. City representatives will ask participants how they would like to use this public space, which activities it should support, what elements should not be missing and what they think will help create an environment for pleasant neighbourhood coexistence. The wishes, opinions and suggestions of the public will thus be incorporated into the design brief for the architects, which will make the courtyard better suited to the needs of the residents of the area. Trnava residents will also be able to express their ideas and comments through a questionnaire that will be distributed to residents‘ mailboxes in July. An online version will also be available and the municipality will inform about its publication on the city’s website in due course.

This is how the inner block on Šafárikova Street looks like now:
